Highland Marine Training is a division of FIndhorn Marina, also a RYA Training centre. The two centers work as one to offer on demand training across the north, Established in 1969 Findhorn Marina brings with it a great deal of experiance in the marine industry becoming a RYA training center was an obvious development allowing us to provide world recognised training right here in the North of Scotland.
Center Principal : Simon Paterson
Simon has spent his entire life in this business having taken over from his father Neil who established the business originally at Burghead. His love of boating especially powerboats comes over in his courses with a depth of knowledge which is evident. Also coxswain of Moray Inshore Rescue Organisation, Simon is an RYA Instructor for the following Powerboat up to Instructor Training and Advanced, Dinghy Sailing, Keel Boat Sailing, VHF (SRC), Basic Nav and Dayskipper Theory, Sea Survival, Diesel Engine & Personal Water Craft
Chief Instructor : Stewart Nairn
Stewart has a background in outdoor education, having specialised in Sailing and powerboating for several years Stewart brings an aspect of variety to his courses and again his knowledge of both Sailing and Powerboating comes across easily. Stewart is an RYA Instructor in Powerboating, Dinghy Sailing and Keel Boat including advanced modules such as Spinnaker and racing and 1st Aid
